The Original Harmony

Kumarkom

Friday:
Our last day was off to an early start due to a dawn-till-dusk transportation strike in protest of high gas prices. So, in order to keep our driver off the road by 6am, we were off at 3:30.

We got to Kumarkom abourt 3 hours later and went to bed. We woke up to find ourselves in the nicest hotel of the whole trip. Our "room" was a cottage with a bedroom, sitting room, two patios, a changing room, indoor bathroom, and outdoor shower.

Since the strike basically shut down the whole state, so we ended up relaxing on one of the patios most of the day looking over the lake. At 5 we went on a one hour sunset cruise that was complementary with our room. As the sun set the wind picked up, slowly pushing around clumps of water hyacinth.

The cruise got back in time for the last 30 minutes of sun, which we watched drop from water's edge. Before dinner we spent some more time outside listening to the frogs and geckos.
